What is a Walkathon?

A walkathon is a hike in which each participant raises a certain amount of money designated for a particular charity.

What is Melabev?

Melabev is a non-profit organization founded in Jerusalem, Israel by Prof. Arnold Rosin, Leah Abramowitz and a group of volunteers in 1981 to serve the needs of frail elderly in the community, that is, people who suffer from Alzheimer and Alzheimer-like symptoms, and who live at home or with their extended family members.

What does Melabev do?

It runs nine day care centers in Jerusalem and Beit Shemesh for the frail elderly. It offers support for families of the memory and cognitively impaired elderly and their caregivers. What’s the social atmosphere like?

Great! Everyone brings good spirits. People are out to have fun. It is not a race, a competition, or a contest. It is an opportunity to see the country, get exercise, shmooz, meet new people, make new friends and help a wonderful organization.
